Another important point to be noted is that there can never be enough pictures. Take a variety of shots and check the focus and clarity in each of them. Be very sure of the settings and be comfortable enough to change them in a short span of time. Post editing is the most important part of the process, so be patient in short listing and editing your work. Make a master copy and never edit or delete that directly. Label your folders by date and location. The best option is to always shoot in RAW, but for beginners anything is acceptable.
